Living in Vietnam
Accomodation and Expenses
Many of our international students say that the cost of living, including apartment rental, transportation, food, and utilities is less in Vietnam, compared with their home countries. FPT arranges a special international student package for living expenses that includes one year apartment rental, utilities, home internet access, medical insurance, and public transportation. Please see our undergraduate prospectus on the application info page for details.
FPT International students stay in an apartment complex about 3 kilometers from the University. From there, it takes 15 minutes to get to school by bus or bicycle.
A meal at one of the shops in the area usually consists of rice or noodles with meat and green vegetables. There's also a large supermarket and many small grocery and vegetable shops nearby where students can buy ingredients to cook their own food. Each apartment has a small kitchen area inside.
In addition to the cost of accommodation and utilities, a frugal student who cooks some of his or her own meals will spend less than $60 per month on food and other day-to-day items.
